Solano Resource Conservation District coordinates Solano County’s three clean-up events: Coastal Cleanup Day, Earth Day Cleanup, and World Environment Day. These community cleanup events aim to engage Solano County residents in the removal of trash and recyclable beverage containers from Solano County’s parks, streets, waterways, and open spaces.
Solano RCD is contracted by Solano County to liaise with the California Coastal Commission, cities, agencies, organizations, and local community advocate groups to identify opportunities and resources, integrate new policies or procedures, and enhance opportunities for community or partner engagement. They coordinate and distribute supplies, provide event marketing and social media, plan and facilitate an annual meeting for city coordinators, and provide a summary report detailing each event’s results.

Is there an area in your Solano County community or favorite open space that you are passionate about making a cleaner and safer place for others to live, work, and play? Consider becoming a Cleanup Site Captain! A Site Captain's job is the heart of any cleanup effort: they help recruit volunteers, prepare cleanup supplies, oversee the cleanup event for their site the day it occurs, and make sure data and pictures are collected and reported.
